About You
Angie Klocke, Research Nurse Coordinator I, joined the Divison of Child Psychiatry, in the Department of Psychiatry, while working as an RN, in the ED at SLCH. Her focus was on pediatric injury with a passion for keeping kids safe. With the support of the ED, she joined a national injury prevention consortium and was awarded research funding from multiple foundations including Robert Wood Johnson, Danforth and Monsanto; to create safe places for children in the community and in the home. In 2022, she was awarded the St. Louis American Foundation Excellence in Health Care Award. In 2006, because of her involvement in the community, Dr. John Constantino asked her to lead his research on family support and child maltreatment. She served in multiple roles; working with Anna Abbacchi, LPC, on autism research and recruitment, studying how autism affects the AA community. She led the coordination and implementation of a parent support protocol, entitled “Strengthening Young Children’s Relationships”, for the prevention of child maltreatment. Today as a member of team SYNCHRONY, she provides family support by triaging families according to need, helping to remove barriers to health care and increasing awareness of injury/prevention. She serves as a community liaison by identifying appropriate community referral services for families and she educates families through parent education and family support, to help them achieve identified family goals and promote positive family growth, health and wellness
